We are going to know about a cricketer whose family has been associated with cricket for more than 3 generations, MA Sathish Kumar known to people in the cricketing fraternity as “Maski” is a left hand batsman and an excellent off spinner, his guile in bowling the off spin and leg spin is not predictable and his slower ones has been an art that has been appreciated by players throughout Tamil Nadu and across the country.
Maski has played cricket First Division cricket for 21 years ,his zeal and passion to play cricket has been the hall mark of his career and is now the assistant coach for Tamil Nadu Under 19 team.
Maski has played for Indian Overseas bank ,Kohinoor and for India Pistons in the Tamil Nadu first division league and has played under the captaincy of Robin Singh and L Sivaramakrishnan.
Maski has played Buchi Babu trophy from the year 1987 to 1995 for TNCA Presidents ×ı ,he has represented Tamil Nadu in the Under 15, Under 17,Under 19 ,Under 21, and Under 23 category.
Maski has been in the Ranji Trophy squad for Tamil Nadu in the year 1993 under the captaincy of WV Raman.
Maski has been a symbol of dedication through his cricketing career and it is really fitting that a dedicated man of this personality has coached Under 16 for 4 years and is now presently coaching the Under 19 team.
Maski is a qualified Level one coach and Umpire.
His significant accolades in his career is that he has scored a century in Buchi Babu trophy and has captained India Pistons in tournaments.
Maski’s father is Mr.Aruncahalam and has played cricket for ICF and Railways in the yester years from 1975 to 1985 and his Uncle Mr.M. Santosh Kumar a finest off spinner in the 1980 era.Santosh Kumar has played for Tamil nadu and has also played for South zone as well.He has represented for South Zone and played against the Australian team in the year 1981 and has got lot of appreciation from Kim Hughes the visiting captain of the Australain side. He has been a guiding factor for Maskithrough out his career, his grandfather Mr. Madurai Muthu has been a head marker for the Chidambaram Stadium for 41 years.Maski has been a visitor to the Chidambaram stadium and has started developing the affinity for the game from the childhood.
